Since the age of 7, Genevieve “GStar” Jean- Baptiste expresses her destiny lied in the hands of a pair of play scissors. As a hairstylist and make up artist, GStar names her inspirations as living icons Tabitha Coffery and Pat McGrath. She’s worked in fashion shows, music videos, editorials, product launches, model and artist portfolios. Her techniques can create many faces of beauty from subtle to dramatic. Not only has GStar done hair and makeup, she has added an extra scent of creativity by styling some of her shoots! She has captured the essence of transforming beauty and making it pop! Some of her favorite brands and must haves include Alter Ego, Nexxus, MAC, Voluminous Carbon Black mascara from L’Oreal and she definitely can not leave the house without her SPITE Lip Gloss. In her own words she expresses “I became a hair stylist because there wasn't a day I could go with out wanting to do someone’s hair. It’s something that brings me joy. I feel complete and my itch to do something is completely satisfied when I'm finished with a client. But the best part is watching them look at themselves in the mirror. They smile, silently screaming "I love my hair"! Even when my clients walk out the door, they are standing up straight, their shoulders are back and they exude so much confidence in their walk. It makes my heart smile...I guess that's the definition on my passion.” GStar hopes to one day create a make up and hair extension line. But from now, stay tuned because she is full of surprises!
