Londoner Alison Cameron is well on her way to Vogue and the red carpet, having created whimsical-meets-edgy makeup looks for “Britain’s Next Top Model 2010,” Fashion Served and World Bride Magazine.

The makeup artist builds on different color juxtapositions, crafting looks that are both strikingly beautiful yet raw and edgy. Her style has developed thanks in part to stints at: Vanity Fair Italy, on the music video set for “Valerie” with Mark Ronson, London Fashion Week and the British SoapAwards, among others.

Cameron’s favorite shoot so far: a whimsical editorial shot in Regents Park, London, in which two models drifted in a haunting English garden in fluid Sonia Rykiel dresses, chiffon skirts and print bras. But the makeup artist will admit that aside from shooting in English gardens, she would like to venture out to the beach and shoot against natural light, or to go deep in the forest at dawn.

Cameron, who would like to be agency represented and is currently polishing her portfolio, is also collaborating with a creative team on a freelance commission for UK publication Pride Magazine.

When Cameron is not freelancing, she can be found working with MAC Cosmetics or at high profile events with the MAC Events team. The experiences, Cameron admits, keeps this up-and-coming makeup artist up to speed on the latest makeup trends and able to meet the demands of all clients.
